I’m in. Are you with me?
My name is Ali Brown. I’m a born and bred Hoosier; the daughter of a Steelworker and a reporter – I work hard and I believe in the truth. I’ve spoken out against injustice and organized Hoosier communities to action my whole life. I know what it takes to create lasting change for the future.
Now, I’m ready to stand up for the people of District 5 of the Indianapolis City-County Council.
Affordable childcare. Access to pre-K. Lowering maternal and infant mortality rates. Public safety. Mass transit. Complete streets. Workforce development. Job readiness.
There is so much at stake in this year’s elections. Will you stand with me?
As a mom, I know firsthand the challenges of raising a family in our city. I also know that we have to move forward in order to create a better future for all of our kids. I’m running to take that step forward – for our kids and for all of Indianapolis.
I dream big and I’m a perpetual optimist. I was a collegiate thrower. I threw shotput, which is basically throwing a cannonball. It’s not an easy thing to do. Even the best in the world only throw 65-70 feet. Throwing is a grind and you don’t see big gains. You don’t just wake up and throw 3-5 feet further than the day before, it takes many small steps. You celebrate small victories and incremental progress. We throwers have a saying: inches are cinches, but yards are hard.
Contribute now and help me #StandTallForIndy.
Nothing has ever come easy to me, but I’ve dreamed big, grinded, and pushed every inch until I got those yards. That is the passion and work ethic I will bring to the City-County Council. Because dreaming big is the only way we are going to build a city that we and our neighbors deserve.
Over the next 11 months, I am going to keep dreaming big, and I guarantee you that no one is going to outwork me. But I can’t do it alone. Are you with me?
